Create a Centerline
Create a centerline with attributes, walls and annotations.
Activity Steps
- On the Design Tab, in the Create group, select Centerline or type the command Lay_CLine. The Layout Centerline dialogue opens.
- Enter a Centerline Name.
- Choose to Draw By:
- Entering an Elevation, where each point is placed at this elevation. Or select a point (Pt...) in the 3D Viewer to define an elevation.
- Select or enter a Gradient (%), where the gradient is used between points.
- Select a Data Point in the 3D Viewer to begin your centerline at this location. Rapid Digitize your centerline by tracing an existing line in the 3D Viewer. This option is unavailable if Auto Curve is checked.
- To draw a Curve in your centerline, enter or select a radius.
- Check Auto Curve to view the curve immediately as you are drawing.
- Check High/Low Flatness to generate the grade change during the curve. This option is unavailable if Auto Curve is unchecked.
- Enter your Centerline Attributes. These attributes record as xdata onto the string, which can be used for end-of-month, compliance and solid building. To access this information, click Centerline Info.
- Begin by entering a Height and Width of the drift profile.
- Enter or select a Centerline Layer to place the centerline string.
- Check Auto Wall to automatically draw a left and right wall using the defined Width. Enter or select a Wall Layer to place the wall strings.
- Choose whether to add Annotation to your drawing.
- Choose the Location of your Annotation to point to the Centerline or Wall Line.
- Check Curve Radius to display the radius of your curve.
- Choose to add Elevation annotation.
- Choose to add Grade annotation with a directional arrow.
- Choose to add a Grade Line, annotating a perpendicular wall to wall line where grade change happens.
- Choose to show the Drive Name.
- Click Reset to reset the Centerline creation window to default.
- Click Save to begin drawing with the current settings.
- To draw another centerline with different settings, adjust the required settings and click Save again to begin drawing a centerline with the new settings.
- Click Cancel to exit the dialogue.
