Hole Search

Search for a hole along a centerline with user-defined options to identify potential dangers caused by various hole types that a miner may encounter while tunneling.

Important: A Diamond Drill Hole database must be connected or imported to utilize this feature. For this activity, assume that a diamond drill hole database is imported and being used.

Activity Steps

  1. To search for holes, on the Survey Tab, in the Virtual Survey panel, click Hole Search, or type the command VS_MemoHoles. The Annotate Holes Along Centerline window appears.
  2. In the Import DDH section, choose which Zone this search refers to, and the Hole Type to search.
  3. Enter a Radius to search along the centerline.
  4. Choose whether to Annotate on Paper.
  5. Modify how the hole search appears:
    1. Add the annotation to the hole found.
    2. Choose the Symbol or location to represent the annotation.
    3. Choose the Size of the annotation.
    4. Choose the Color of the annotation.
    5. For the Hole Name, select to name the hole Along Hole.
  6. Choose to Export Excel and the Path to export to.
  7. To visualize the holes on the 3D viewer with the settings in step 5, select Show DDH.
  8. To model the holes as a cylinder, select Show Cylinder.
  9. To keep the holes and cylinder models when closing the window, select Keep Cylinder and original DDH after closing.
  10. When all settings are complete, choose to Annotate DDH.
    1. Select the first point on your centerline.
    2. Select the second point on your centerline.

      Amine searches between the beginning point and end point along the centerline with the radius provided for holes in the database specified.

      The window reappears. The report automatically exports to your chosen path.

  11. If not satisfied, click Delete Annotation and try again.
  12. To exit, click Cancel.
