Update an Existing Client Job

Similar to configuring a new client job, an existing client job can be updated based on the package or analysis code configuration. Additionally, analyte schemes can be added to the client job to accommodate specific requirements or modifications.

This activity describes how to configure an existing client job, add new analytes, and set whether analytes should be reported or not.

Note: Modifications can be made to client jobs that do not yet have a laboratory job assigned to them. To apply these modifications to subsequent processes, a new laboratory job must be created after making the changes.

Making any modifications to a client job (analysis) permanent applies only to samples in a series, as the series can be saved with the updated analysis code. For non-routine samples, however, any changes made to the client job are a one-time adjustment specific to the samples in that batch and are not saved permanently.

Activity Steps

  1. On the Sample Batches page, select the batch.
  2. Set the view to Working View and click on Client Jobs.

The Client Job page displays with the existing analysis codes for the selected batch.

  3. Select the client job to modify and click Setup.

The Client Job Setup screen displays.

  4. To change the current setup:

    1. Click Setup.

The Setup Client Job screen displays.

    2. Choose from the following options:

      • Setup current Client Job for product—When samples contain more than one product, each product can be configured independently. This option allows the current configuration (schemes) to be applied only to a specific product.
      • Setup current Client Job from a Package—Allows you to modify the existing client job configuration based on the configured package.
      • Setup current Client Job from Analysis Code—Allows you to modify the existing client job configuration based on the configured analysis code.
    3. Select the required Analysis Code or Package from the newly displayed field to the right.
    4. Click OK.

The new analyte schemes load and are assigned to all samples.

  5. To add additional analyte schemes:

    1. In the Analyte Scheme window, click the Add icon.

      The Analyte Schemes screen displays.

    2. Select the required Analyte Scheme.

    3. Click the Send to Client Job icon.

    4. Repeat steps 5 a-c to add additional analyte schemes.

    5. To locate an analyte scheme, you can filter by:

      • Analyte Type

      • Analyte

      • Method

  6. Click Report to cycle through the following options until the desired one is displayed.

Note: Analytes set to report appear in the final report generated in the Report Module of AssayNet LIMS.

    1. Select the Scheme in the Analyte Scheme table.

    2. Click Report to select from the following options:

      • Yes—All the values are reported.

      • No

      • Data Only—The final report includes client samples only.

      • QC Only—The final report includes QC samples only.

  7. Click Close.
