Set up Balance Calibration and View Calibration Log
Configuring balance calibration in AssayNet LIMS ensures that balances operate within their specified accuracy and precision limits. This activity describes how to set up calibration requirements, including selecting the calibration schedule, defining weight units and decimal places and entering the required calibration weights. Proper setup ensures that calibration routines are seamlessly integrated into laboratory workflows.
Activity Steps
-
On the Laboratory ribbon tab, click Instruments.
The Instrument screen displays.
- Select the balance to add the calibration to.
-
Click Setup » Options.

-
Set the schedule for the calibration window to display in the AssayNet LIMS. Select from:
-
For every Lab Job / Run—Requires calibration before each lab job or run.
-
After N samples—Prompts calibration after a specified number of samples have been processed. If checked, enter the N number of sample in the field that displays to the right.
-
After N hours—Prompts calibration after a specified number of hours have elapsed. If checked, enter the N number of hours in the field that displays to the right.
-
After a specific time—Prompts calibration at a predefined time. If checked, enter the time in the format hh:mm (hours and minutes).
-
Every shift—Ensures calibration is performed at the start or during each work shift.
-
-
To set the measurement parameters, complete the following fields as required:
-
Allowable Var—Specifies the maximum allowable variation, expressed as a percentage.
-
Units—Defines the unit of measurement for the balance.
-
Decimal Places—Specifies the number of decimal places to display in the results, ensuring precision in measurements.
