Create Method Types

Method types are used to group related analysis methods based on a common classification or purpose. They help organize laboratory procedures by categorizing methods with similar characteristics, such as analytical technique, application area or instrument type.

For example, method types may include categories such as Gravimetric, Titration, Atomic Absorption (AA) or ICP, enabling laboratories to manage and navigate large numbers of methods more efficiently.

This activity describes the steps to create a new method type.

Activity Steps

1. On the Profile ribbon tab, under the Analysis group, click Method Types .

   The Analysis Method Types screen displays.

2. Click New.

   The Add Authority screen displays.

3. Enter a Method Type.
4. Click OK.
