Configure Laboratory Statistics Options

This activity is a continuation of Create and Configure Laboratory Statistics and describes the available options and filter settings for each performance indicator.

Note: The options for performance indicators vary depending on the Statistic Type selected in the Create and Configure Laboratory Statistics activity. This document covers the options for the statistic types Production, Turnaround Time, and Work in Progress, which are the most commonly used. For information about options for other statistic types, please contact AssayNet Support.

      • None—No record-type statistics will be included.
    2. In the Approval category group, select from the following:
      • Approved Results—Includes only results that have been formally approved.
      • Unapproved Results—Includes only results that are not yet approved.
      • Results on Hold—Includes only results that have been placed on hold.
      • All Results—Includes results of any approval status.
    3. In the Type of Analysis category group, select from the following:
      • Original Only—Includes only the original analysis of each sample.
      • Retest Only—Includes only retests of samples.
      • Re-Analysis Only—Includes only re-analyses (repeat testing for quality or verification).
      • All—Includes all types of analyses.
    4. In the QC Samples category group, select any that apply to include specific quality control samples:
      • Sample Splits—Includes split samples used for QC.
      • Prep QC Samples—Includes QC samples prepared during processing.
      • Method Blanks—Includes method blank QC samples.
      • Reference Materials—Includes certified or internal reference materials used for QC.
      • Replicates—Includes replicate samples analyzed for QC.
      • Spikes—Includes spike samples for QC analysis.
    5. In the Options category group, select any that apply:
      • Show totals only—Displays only the total counts or values for each statistic.
      • Use Item Codes—Displays results using item codes instead of names.
      • Include Work in Progress—Includes samples or analyses that are still in progress.
      • Reported Schemes only—Restricts the report to schemes that have already been reported.
    6. From the drop-down list, select whether to use Client Samples, QC Samples, or All.
  3. To configure the Options for the Turnaround Time statistics type:
    1. Select from the following reporting options:
      • Show totals only—Display only the total counts or values for each statistic.
      • Calculate as percent of target—Display values as a percentage of the defined target.
      • Use Item Codes instead of Names—Display results using item codes in place of names.
      • Include Work in Progress—Include samples or analyses that are still in progress (optional).
    2. In the Time units for reporting category group, select either days or hours as the preferred unit for reporting time.
    3. In the Target turnaround time category group:
      1. Enter a value in the Default Turnaround field; for example, 5.
      2. Select either days or hours as the unit for the default turnaround time.
      3. Select whether to Use default only. If selected, applies the default turnaround time only when no specific target turnaround time is defined.
  4. To configure the Options for the Work in Progress statistics type:
    1. Select from the following reporting options:
      • Show totals only
      • Use Item Codes instead of Names
    2. In the Completed Status for category group, select from the available statuses for:
      • Sample Batches
      • Client Jobs
    3. Enter values for the following fields:
      • Increment—Sets the size of the groupings for the Work in Progress statistics. For example, if you enter 5, the data will be grouped in intervals of 5.
      • Max Increment—Sets the highest value for the grouping intervals. For example, if you set Max Increment to 50, the statistics will show groupings up to 50. Anything above may be grouped together or not shown, depending on the system.
  5. To configure the filter options:
    1. Click Clients.

      The Clients screen displays.

Note: You can select all clients, or single or multiple clients. When using the Client ID in the Auto option for the Statistics Name, only the first client selected is added to the Statistic Name.

    2. Select from the following fields as required:
      • All Clients—Allows you to retrieve the configured laboratory statistics for all clients.
      • Selected Clients—Allows you to retrieve the configured laboratory statistics for selected clients.
        1. Select the client from the list.
        2. Click the red arrow pointing right to add the client to the selected clients.
        3. Repeat steps 5 a–b to add additional clients.
    3. Select whether to Restrict selection to one. If selected, each time you click the red arrow pointing right, only the client currently displayed in the list is added.

Note: The rest of the filtering options for Projects, Analysis Codes, Sample Types, Analyte Schemes, and Series are configured the same way as for Clients. Follow the same steps to configure them.

Note: The Grouping option is currently not working.

    1. Click Dates.

      The Dates screen displays.

    2. Select from the following options to configure how the dates are retrieved:
