Set up Additional QC Analysis Code Options

This activity describes how to set up the additional parameters for all QC types located on the left side of the Q.C. Options screen, including client-specific entry requirements, QC visualization, and validation. The QC parameters are specific to each analysis code. To set up QC calculation options, see Set up QC Analysis Code Options.

Activity Steps

  1. In the Profile ribbon tab, click Analysis Code.

    The Analysis Codes screen displays.

  2. To update QC options:

    1. Select the Code.

    2. Click Setup » Options.

      The Edit Analysis Code screen displays.

    3. In the Category field group, click Q.C. Options.

      The Q.C. Options fields display.

  3. To set how QC are entered, select the required options for the Instrument Run and Lab Job field groups:

    • Allow—Allows the QC to be entered manually.

    • Do not Allow—QC can only be entered in the Instrument Run and Lab Job screens by scanning the required QC label.

    • Require Comment—Requires a comment to enter the QC manually.

  4. To display reference material in the Results Summary screen, select Show Reference Material in the Reference Material field group. For additional display options, select the following options as required:

    • Hide in Lab Job

    • Show Actual Value for Pass/ Fail—Displays the reference material result in the Results Summary screen.

    • Measurement 1—Displays measurement 1.

    • Measurement 2—Displays measurement 2.

    • Choose Standard—Currently not available. All reference materials are shown.

  5. Select the following options as required:

    • Verify QC Before Approval—Requires a comment to approve results if QC fails.

    • Auto Validation—Auto validate results. For more information, see Create and Configure Validation Rules.

    • Use Split for Replicate—Use sample splits for replicate control.

    • Show QC Codes in Sample Lists

    • Allow Calibration Bypass—Allow user to enter results without doing a balance calibration.

    • QC Template—A template is saved from the control charts in the Excel Add-in.

    • Client Sample Code

  6. Click OK.
