Export quality results viewer scheme summaries to Microsoft Excel

Use this activity to export quality results viewer scheme summaries to Microsoft Excel. Refer to Generating Grid Reports.

Available report templates are defined in the SEARCH_REPORT_CCWKOP application preference.

Activity Steps

  1. Open a quality results reviewer session to display the CCQROP—Search Results Viewer screen.

  2. Schemes and analytes, where samples exist that match the search criteria, display in the Scheme Summary grid.

  3. Check the selection check box on the search results rows.
  4. Click Export to report.

    Note: Until a search is performed, the Export to Report option is not available, and if any search criteria are updated the Export to Report option is not available until a search is performed.

    The Microsoft Excel document is generated. During this process, the screen is greyed out and the Generating the Report notification widget appears in the bottom right-hand corner of the screen. When the server finishes generating the report, the screen returns to normal and the notification widget is updated so the user can click on it to download the report.

    The report generation process extracts the entire displayed sheet to a native XLS sheet and includes the column headers, then creates an XLSX file with the filename of workbook_ workbookPageID.

    Note that numeric values are exported as strings. Therefore, if the file is to be opened in Microsoft Excel, the values must be converted back to numeric values for the application of any calculations or formulas.

    Quality control colours are included as part of the export (but are whole-cell not part-cell applied).

    Where the Export all columns, incl. hidden columns is selected on the export dialog, then all the modelled sample columns are exported. If the form is personalised to not contain these hidden columns, then this reflects in any subsequent export.
