Creating a New Quote from an Existing Quote

Overview

The Save As function in CCQUOTE has been enhanced to allow users to create a copy of an existing quote while selecting the same or a different currency. When creating the new quote, users can choose how pricing should be handled, including retaining existing prices, converting prices using an exchange rate, or resetting prices to zero for re-entry. All other quote details, such as schemes, analytes, notes, and pricing structures, are retained in the new quote to ensure consistency and reduce set up time.

Save As Dialog Properties

Organisation Scope—Indicates whether the new quote will be created at organisation level or not. This option is only applicable when the source quote supports organisation scope and determines the visibility and usage of the new quote.

Quote Code—Specifies the unique identifier for the new quote being created. This is a mandatory field and must not already exist.

Is Active—Determines whether the new quote will be active upon creation. If selected, the quote can be used immediately; otherwise, it is created in an inactive state for later activation.

From Currency—Displays the currency of the original quote. This field is read-only and provides context for any currency conversion applied to the new quote.

Adjust Prices—Determines how pricing is handled when creating the new quote. The available options are:

  • Keep Existing Prices - Copies all pricing values without change, even if the currency differs (if available in final UI).
  • Convert to new Currency - Recalculates all prices using the system-defined exchange (adjustment) rate.
  • Zero All Prices - Sets all pricing values to zero, allowing new prices to be entered manually.

Adjustment Rate—Displays the conversion rate used when converting prices between currencies. This value is derived from existing currency rates in the system and is read-only. It is only relevant when the Convert to New Currency option is selected.
