Set the ALLOW_STANDARDS_AS_SPIKES Preference
Use this activity to set the ALLOW_STANDARDS_AS_SPIKES application preference to allow a spike QC sample to link to both spike and standard QC materials.
A spike is a standard QC sample that is spiked with a portion of an unknown sample, such that, when the results for an unknown spiked sample and the related standard QC sample are determined, the spike QC sample is assessed against the standard limits by first subtracting the result of the unknown sample from the result of the spike QC sample and then performing the comparison. Therefore, for all intents and purposes, a spike is a standard considered from different points of view.
The Scope for this preference is usually set at instance, organisation or laboratory level.
