Set the DEFAULT_PRIORITY Preference

Use this activity set the DEFAULT_PRIORITY application preference to default job priority.

Client priority defaults to the value of this preference. Job priority defaults to Project priority if it is set on the Project. If the Job is not linked to a Project then Job priority defaults to Client priority if it is set on the Client. If priority is not set on the Client, then Job priority defaults to the value of this preference.

The Scope for this preference is usually set at instance, organisation or laboratory level.

Activity Steps

  1. Access the CCPREF—Preference application from the main menu or quick launch to display the CCPREF—Search Preference screen.
  2. Enter the Preference NameDEFAULT_PRIORITY
  3. Click Submit.
  4. Open the preference with the lowest level of scope to display the CCPREF—Preference Detail screen.
  5. If Is System is checked, then:
    1. Uncheck Is System.
    2. Click Submit.
  6. Ensure that Setting Type is set to STRING.
  7. Enter the Setting Value—Entered in the format xN, where x is an integer and N is a code for a date-time period: S (second), N (minute), H (hour), D (day), M (month), Y (year). For example, 10D (10 days), 30N (30 minutes).
  8. Set the Preference Type to PREFERENCE.
  9. Ensure Is Active is checked.
  10. Click Submit.
  11. If Is System was initially checked, then:
    1. Check Is System.
    2. Click Submit.
