Package supplied and third-party software
The table following provides a summary of the media / artefacts required to recover the base Appliance software to run all the version of product on the Appliance prior to the recovery event:
|
CCLAS |
Description |
|---|---|

Initial installation: USB / thumb drive (Appliance customers only) MOR (Non-Appliance customers start with this) |
The installation USB thumb media originally supplied by Datamine to install the Appliance, or A later USB thumb installation image downloaded from the Datamine Customer Portal. |

Oracle Linux 6.6 Installation DVD |
Oracle Linux Installation DVD. |

Upgrades: A MOR file is available from the Datamine Customer Portal Workspace for that version. Refer to the thumb drive document for details on accessing the MOR file. |
Offline software repository provided by Datamine for each CCLAS release. |
As the above table reflects, the artefacts to be backed-up / retained are the files required to do a 'clean rebuild' of an Appliance. These include:
- Appliance installation thumb (USB) corresponding to one of:
- The initial Appliance build or
- The oldest / earliest version of product of all environments deployed on the Appliance.
- Datamine supplied MOR files for each deployed environment version (as identified in the configuration artefacts) later than the version delivered by the installation thumb (USB) selected in step 1.
For example, consider an Appliance, initially built with the earliest version of CCLAS, which has gone through numerous upgrades over an approximate 12 month period, and is configured with 3 environments each running a different CCLAS version from the last 3 versions.
Recovery of this appliance would require:
- Either:
- The installation thumb for the original CCLAS install, or
- The installation thumb for the earliest version of CCLAS deployed as one of the 3 active environments.
- The MORs for versions installed.
It is considered good practice to retain a copy of the thumb installation images used to initially install the appliance (not relevant for do-it-yourself customers) as well each MOR file provided by Datamine corresponding the active version in operation within your organization. MOR files are provided by Datamine for each release of CCLAS and available for download from the Customer Portal (see Create Thumbdrive for details).
Each supplied MOR previously installed and upgraded to on the Appliance needs restoration in the event of a recovery action so it is important that these files are readily accessible during any recovery.
