Conditions for Forcing Manual Validation of a Laboratory Batch Result

When a result is entered in the context of a laboratory batch job and a user manually releases a sample scheme analyte result or the cascade engine automatically evaluates the sample scheme analyte's Workflow Status as Released, and the LAB_BATCH_MANUAL_VALIDATE_RESULTS application preference is:

• Not defined, or is defined and selected, then the sample scheme analyte's Workflow Status remains at Released such that it must be manually validated.
• Defined and is cleared, the scheme version analyte's Auto Validate is selected, and the sample scheme analyte's Composite QC Status is not Failure, then the sample scheme analyte's Workflow Status is set to Completed, Completed Date and Completed By are set to the current system time and user, and the Validated Date and Validated By is set to the current system time and user.
• Defined and is cleared, the scheme version analyte's Auto Validate is selected, and the sample scheme analyte's Composite QC Status is Failure, then the sample scheme analyte's Workflow Status is set to Completed, Completed Date and Completed By are set to the current system time and user.
• Defined and is cleared, and the scheme version analyte's Auto Release check box is cleared, then the sample scheme analyte's Workflow Status remains at Released, such that, the result needs manual validation.
