Processes associated with this form
Screen flows
- Submit—Validate and save the changes.
- Refresh—Reload the original data. Any changes made since the last submit are lost.
- Search Samples—Search for samples schemes based upon the entered criteria and display the related sample details in the samples grid.

Rerack—Re-fill the racks associated with the samples in the job scheme, starting at the first sample, filling the rack, starting a new rack if required and filling that, repeating until all samples in the job scheme are re-racked.

Job Name
The name of the associated job. Display only.

Scheme Code
The code of the associated scheme.
Samples Grid
Samples involved in the QC sample maintenance session. Some sample details can be edited directly in the grid. The changes are persisted on submit.
Samples can be removed from the job and scheme by clicking X on the selected row and performing a submit.
Samples can be deleted only if certain conditions are met. These include:

No unknown sample can be deleted (even if it is selected).

A standard QC sample can only be deleted if the user is a member of the user group associated with the ALLOW_DELETE_STD_USERGROUP preference.

A blank QC sample can only be deleted if the user is a member of the user group associated with the ALLOW_DELETE_BLK_USERGROUP preference.

A spike QC sample can only be deleted if the user is a member of the user group associated with the ALLOW_DELETE_SPK_USERGROUP preference.
If a deleted sample belongs to:

A production job then it is deleted from the production job only.

A laboratory batch job then it is deleted from the laboratory batch job only.
When a blank, standard or spike QC sample is deleted:
-
The sample scheme and the sample is deleted.

The Registration Sequence and Rack Number of each remaining sample scheme within the job scheme is re-evaluated.
When a QC sample is deleted, if there is a related record in QC history, the QC history record is set to inactive.

Sequence Number
The sequence of the sample within the job scheme.

Rack Number
The rack number of the sample within the job scheme.

Sample Code
The unique code of the sample.

Sample Name
The name of the sample.

Sample Description
The description of the sample.

Client Sample Name
The name by which the client recognises the sample.

Primary Analytical Type
The primary analytical type of the sample which determines the first level of QC assessment on a result:

Unknown
-
Duplicate
-
Replicate
-
Standard
-
Blank
-
Spike.
Depending on the Primary Analytical Type, some fields may not display.

QC Type Code
The code of the associated QC type, used to determine which script is run during primary QC assessment.

QC Type Name
The name of the associated QC type.

Secondary Analytical Type
The secondary analytical Type associated with the sample which determines the second level of QC assessment on a result. Samples with a Primary Analytical Type of Unknown can have a Secondary Analytical Type of Blank or Standard. Samples with a Primary Analytical Type of Blank, Standard or Spike can have a Secondary Analytical Type of Duplicate or Replicate.

Secondary QC Type Code
The code of the associated QC type, used to determine which script is run during secondary QC assessment. Selected from QC types that have an Analytical Type matching the Primary Analytical Type and a Linked QC Type matching the Primary Analytical Type.

Standard
The code of the associated standard for a sample that has a Primary Analytical Type or Secondary Analytical Type of Blank, Standard or Spike.

Standard Lot
The lot code of the associated standard lot for a sample that has a Primary Analytical Type or Secondary Analytical Type of Blank, Standard or Spike.

Standard Lot Number
The lot number of the associated standard lot for a sample that has a Primary Analytical Type or Secondary Analytical Type of Blank, Standard or Spike.

Spike Original Sample Code
The code of the sample that was used to create the spike QC sample.

Spike Original Sample Name
The name of the sample that was used to create the spike QC sample.

Spike Original Client Sample Name
The client sample name of the sample that was used to create the spike QC sample.

Dup Original Sample Code
The code of the sample that was used to create the duplicate QC sample.

Dup Original Sample Name
The name of the sample that was used to create the duplicate QC sample.

Dup Original Client Sample Code
The client sample name of the sample that was used to create the duplicate QC sample.
