Registration

This section outlines the processes used for the registration of jobs and samples.

The following are the basic tasks for creating a job:

  • Assign a job number to uniquely identify the job.
  • Link the job to the correct client, project and contact for reporting and invoicing.
  • Add samples to the job.
  • Add tests (schemes and analytes that pertain the testing methods) to the samples, which in turn adds the composite tests to the job. This stage may extend over a period of time as the samples come in to the laboratory. Template samples are used to register routine combinations of schemes and analytes.
  • When all the samples are ready for analysis, the operator or supervisor can activate the job in which the Workflow Status of the job and samples move from Registered to Not Started.

The creation of jobs and samples in CCLAS is known as registration.

Jobs can be created ad-hoc, or using template and schedule jobs.

A high level overview of the CCLAS production processes is depicted in this diagram. These reflect the day-to-day tasks undertaken by laboratory staff to register and analyse samples and to report and invoice results.
