- Return counts for the required analysis.
- Search for the samples matching the required analysis.
- Select the samples for adding to the laboratory subcontracting job.
To select a range of adjacent samples, select the first sample, then whilst holding the SHIFT key, select the last sample. To select non-adjacent samples select the first sample, then whilst holding the CTRL key select subsequent samples.
- Click Create Subcontract Batch to display the Create Subcontract Batch dialog box.
- Select the Batch Name Syntax Code. The drop down list is comprised of active syntaxes of type Batch Name.
- Select the Batch Job Template Name. The drop down list is comprised of jobs of type Template. If no job template is selected, then the batch will use the template defined in the DEFAULT_BATCH_TEMPLATE preference. If no template is defined in the preference then the subcontract batch cannot be created. The template helps structure the subcontract batch from general job and sample details to the appropriate QC to apply. Depending on the template used, the subcontract batch can be as simple as a basic subcontract batch job with samples and tests assigned to a lab or it can be a subcontract batch job with specific details, QCs to be assigned due to the sample scheme being defined in the template.
- Select the Sample Scheme QC Mode. The options are No QC, Scheme QC (use the QC configuration defined in the scheme) or Template QC (use the QC configuration defined in the sample scheme of the template where the scheme in the template matches the batch).
- Select the Subcontract Laboratory Code.
- Select Auto-create Paperwork, as required.
- Click OK to proceed with subcontract batch job creation.
Where all selected samples are not activated, then an error is raised: Deactivated sample cannot be included in a Batch.
Where all selected samples have Is Available for Batching cleared, then an error is raised: Samples XXX, XXX, XXX are not available for Batching. Batch is not created.
If the subcontracting batch is created, then the batch code and name is displayed in the success message. This subcontracting batch job contains the selected laboratory code on its job property (Subcontract Laboratory Code).
