Default Settings for Duplicate or Replicate QC Samples
A duplicate or replicate QC sample's Code is determined by the reserved sample syntax SAMPLE_CODE_SYNTAX that has its running number updated ONLY upon successful sample registration.
A duplicate or replicate QC sample's Name, Description, and Client Sample Name is inherited from the duplicate's or replicate's original sample.
A duplicate or replicate QC sample's Primary Analytical Type is set to Duplicate or Replicate, respectively.
Only for when duplicate or replicate QC samples are created when Registering Jobs from Schedule Jobs or Drafting Jobs from Schedule Jobs, A duplicate or replicate QC sample's Secondary Analytical Type and Secondary QC Type Code are inherited from the duplicate's or replicate's original sample, thereby making these samples undergo any secondary QC assessment.
A duplicate or replicate QC sample's QC Type Code is set to the code of the selected QC Type (from the QC mask member or as selected during creation).
A duplicate or replicate QC sample's Duplicate Original Sample Code is set to the parent sample's Code .
A duplicate or replicate QC sample's Workflow Status is set to Not Started, that is, the samples are activated automatically.
A duplicate or replicate QC sample's Received Date, Registration Date and Last Activated Date default from the duplicate's or replicate's original sample.
A duplicate or replicate QC sample's Received By, Registered By and Activated By default from the duplicate's or replicate's original sample.
The Registration Sequence and Rack Number are made identical for all linked job schemes, that is, they are registered for all linked job schemes (although a duplicate, replicate or spike QC sample is only registered in a linked job scheme as long as the original sample is registered also for that job scheme), and are placed in the same relative order in the rack.
A duplicate or replicate QC sample scheme's Instrument Code is inherited from the duplicate's or replicate's original sample scheme.
If the duplicated sample contains sample schemes with precursor scheme relationships between them, these relationships are maintained for the new duplicate sample scheme. That is, when a sample scheme is created for a duplicate QC sample, then the sample scheme's Precursor Scheme Code defaults to the duplicated sample scheme's Precursor Scheme Code.
