Example 3) Determining job scheme processing order - explicit precursor schemes

This example shows what happens where explicit precursor schemes are in place.

The system adds in implicit precursor scheme relationships for apply QC masks, based on the rule that any sample preparation scheme must be processed before any analytical preparation or analytical scheme so that QC samples created during sample preparation can propagate to all analytical preparation and analytical schemes:

Therefore:

• When QC samples are created using QC masks, then:
  • The job schemes are processed in job scheme sequence, but obey explicit and implicit precursor relationships: SamPrep1 --> SamPrep2 --> Ana1Prep --> Ana1 --> Ana3 --> Ana2Prep --> Ana2
  • QC samples created for SamPrep1, if flagged for propagation in the QC mask, is registered for Ana1Prep, Ana1, Ana3, Ana2Prep and Ana2 also (an exception is where the QC sample is a duplicate, replicate or spike but original sample does not exist in the destination scheme).
  • QC samples created for SamPrep2, if flagged for propagation in the QC mask, is registered for Ana1Prep, Ana1, Ana3, Ana2Prep and Ana2 also (an exception is where the QC sample is a duplicate, replicate or spike but original sample does not exist in the destination scheme).
  • QC samples created for Ana1Prep, if flagged for propagation in the QC mask, is registered for Ana1 also (an exception is where the QC sample is a duplicate, replicate or spike but original sample does not exist in the destination scheme).
  • QC samples created for Ana3 are not propagated as there are no sequel schemes.
  • QC samples created for Ana2Prep, if flagged for propagation in the QC mask, is registered for Ana2 also (an exception is where the QC sample is a duplicate, replicate or spike but original sample does not exist in the destination scheme).
• Warning and expiry date-times is determined for Ana1 and Ana2 if holding times are defined.
• Ready date-times is determined for Ana1Prep and Ana2Prep if waiting time is defined.
