Example 4) Determining job scheme processing order

ANA1PREP is the precursor of ANA1A and ANA1B, and SAMPREPA is the precursor of SAMPREPB, as configured on the Precursor Schemes tab for the ANA1A and ANA1B schemes, respectively, in the CCSCHM—Scheme application.

Also, ANA1A and ANA1B are linked schemes, as configured on the Linked Schemes tab for ANA1A and ANA1B, respectively, in the CCSCHM—Scheme application.

A sample is registered in a new job with ANA1A, ANA1B, ANA2, ANA1PREP, ANA2PREP, SAMPREPB, SAMPREPA, resulting in the following SS and JS records being created:

Processing sequence in QC update:

a) Put sam prep schemes first as these are ‘deemed’ precursor schemes of any ana prep or ana scheme:

b) Put precursor schemes before sequel schemes:

c) Now process the job schemes in this order to add QCs.

When processing a job scheme:

  • QCs are added according to the samples’ QC mask/s.
  • Any linked scheme is immediately processed with the same QC samples and rack layout.
  • Any QC samples created from QC mask members that are flagged to propagate are added also to sequel schemes (including any ‘deemed’ sequel schemes).

First scheme to process is SAMPREPA. No linked schemes. QC sample propagation to SAMPREPB, ANA1PREP, ANA1A, ANA2 ANA2PREP, ANA1B.

Second scheme to process is SAMPREPB. No linked schemes. QC sample propagation to ANA1PREP, ANA1A, ANA2 ANA2PREP, ANA1B.

Third scheme to process is ANA1PREP. No linked schemes. QC sample propagation to ANA1A, ANA1B.

Fourth scheme to process is ANA1A. ANA1B is linked so is the fifth scheme to process and gets the same QC samples and rack layout. No sequel schemes exist for propagation.

Sixth scheme to process is ANA2. No linked schemes. No sequel schemes exist for propagation.

Seventy scheme to process is ANA2PREP. No linked schemes. No sequel schemes exist for propagation.
