Set the AUTO_ACTIVATE_UPPER_SCHEME Preference

Use this activity to set the AUTO_ACTIVATE_UPPER_SCHEME application preference to turn automatic activation of an upper scheme on or off.

The AUTO_ACTIVATE_UPPER_SCHEME application preference is used to control whether an upper scheme is activated automatically when the result for a lower scheme exceeds a critical upper detection limit. This is invoked for sample scheme analytes registered on upper schemes that have a Workflow Status of Not Analysed or No Result, and allows them to be worked upon along with other sample scheme analytes in the job.

The Scope for this preference is usually set at laboratory level.

Activity Steps

  1. Access the CCPREF—Preference application from the main menu or quick launch to display the CCPREF—Search Preference screen.
  2. Enter the Preference NameAUTO_ACTIVATE_UPPER_SCHEME
  3. Click Submit.
  4. Open the preference with the lowest level of scope to display the CCPREF—Preference Detail screen.
  5. If Is System is checked, then:
    1. Uncheck Is System.
    2. Click Submit.
  6. Ensure that Setting Type is set to BOOLEAN.
  7. To turn on automatic activation of the upper test, check Setting Value.

When a result is entered that is above the critical upper detection limit, such that, the Detection Limit Status proceeds to Upper Failure and the Workflow Status proceeds to Check, and a sample scheme analyte exists for the same sample and the analyte's Upper Scheme Code and Upper Analyte Code and that sample scheme analyte has a Workflow Status of Not Analysed or No Result, then for the sample scheme analyte holding the result, the Detection Limit Status is set to Ignored Upper Failure and the Workflow Status is set to Analysed, and for the upper sample scheme analyte, the Workflow Status is set to Repeat.

  8. To turn off automatic activation of the upper test, such that, when a result is entered that is above the critical upper detection limit such that the Detection Limit Status proceeds to Upper Failure and the Workflow Status proceeds to Check, and a sample scheme analyte exists for the same sample and the analyte's Upper Scheme Code and Upper Analyte Code and that sample scheme analyte has a Workflow Status of Not Analysed or No Result, then for the sample scheme analyte holding the result, no change is made to the Detection Limit Status nor the Workflow Status, and for the upper sample scheme analyte, no change is made to the Workflow Status, uncheck Setting Value.
  9. Set the Preference Type to PREFERENCE.
  10. Ensure Is Active is checked.
  11. Click Submit.
  12. If Is System was initially checked, then:
    1. Check Is System.
    2. Click Submit.
