Create a Client Quote

Use this activity to create a client quote. This activity allows the client quote to link to an existing base quote, or to create a new base quote.

Activity Steps

  1. Access the CCCLNT—Client application from the main menu or quick launch to display the CCCLNT—Search Client screen.
  2. Enter the relevant search criteria and click Search.

Clients that match the criteria display in the grid.

  3. Open the required client to display the CCCLNT—Client Detail screen.
  4. Select the Invoicing tab.
  5. Select the Quotes sub-tab.

Client quotes display in the grid.

  6. Click Add icon Add.
  7. If the source client quote has org-scope, then select whether the new client quote has Organisation Scope or not.

Where the client quote is created with org-scope, then the Organisation Code defaults to the current organisation, that is, the organisation owns the client quote, making it available to all laboratories associated with the organisation. An org-scope client quote can link to an org-scope base Client Quote only.

Where the client quote is created with lab-scope, then the laboratory owns the client quote, making it available only to the current laboratory. A lab-scope client quote can link to an org-scope quote or a lab-scope base Client Quote.

  8. Enter the Client Quote Code.

A Client Quote Code can be either entered manually or generated from the laboratory's Quote Code Pattern and Quote Last Used Number, as follows:

    • The first sequence of #### is replaced with a zero-padded number, for example 0005 (and any subsequent #### are ignored) and,
    • The last sequence number is incremented by 1 to generate the next one and the laboratory's Quote Last Used Number value is updated.

Where no Client Quote Code is entered and the syntax is not found, or the syntax is found but the syntax cannot generate a code, then an error is raised.

Where the entered or generated client quote's Client Quote Code is not unique within scope, then an error is raised.

Where the entered or generated client quote's Client Quote Code does not satisfy code validation, that is, if the code contains non-printable characters, then an error is raised.

  9. Either:
    1. Select an existing base Quote Code from the drop-down list, or enter the exact code of an existing base quote that is in scope.

    Or:

    1. Leave the Quote Code empty, or enter a new code where no base quote within scope has that code, to create a new base quote.

If not supplied, then the base quote's Quote Code is generated by the syntax that is in scope and has a Syntax Type of Quote and a Syntax Code of QUOTE_CODE_SYNTAX.

  10. Enter the following fields:

    Is Active

    Description

Quote Currency—Displayed only where a Quote Code is selected, or selectable to then filter available quotes.

    Project Code

    Contact Code

  11. Click Submit.

The client quote is created. If the base quote does not exist, it is created.
