Set the SCHEME_AUTO_CREATE_PRICE_CODE Preference

Use this activity to set the SCHEME_AUTO_CREATE_PRICE_CODE application preference to turn on/off automatic creation of a price code when a scheme is created.

The Scope for this preference is usually set at laboratory level.

Activity Steps

  1. Access the CCPREF—Preference application from the main menu or quick launch to display the CCPREF—Search Preference screen.
  2. Enter data in the following field:

    Preference NameSCHEME_AUTO_CREATE_PRICE_CODE

  3. Click Submit.
  4. Open the preference with the lowest level of scope to display the CCPREF—Preference Detail screen.
  5. If Is System is checked, then:
    1. Uncheck Is System.
    2. Click Submit.
  6. Ensure that Setting Type is set to BOOLEAN.
  7. To turn on automatic creation of a price code upon scheme creation, check Setting Value.

    When a scheme is created that has a Price Type of Sample-Based, Scheme-Based or Unit-Based, and:

    • A price code exists that has the same Price Type, Scope and Code as the scheme—The price code is linked to the scheme.
    • A price code exists that has the same Price Type and Code as the scheme but not the same Scope —A message is displayed that the scheme could not be linked to the price code due to the different scope.
    • A price code does not exist that has the same Price Type, Scope and Code as the scheme—A price code with the same Price Type, Scope, Code, Name and Description as the scheme is automatically created, and associated with the scheme.
  8. To turn off automatic creation of a price code upon scheme creation, uncheck Setting Value.

    When a scheme is created that has has a Price Type of Sample-Based, Scheme-Based or Unit-Based, then no automatic creation or linking to price codes occurs, therefore this has to be done manually.

  9. Set the Preference Type to PREFERENCE.
  10. Ensure Is Active is checked.
  11. Click Submit.
  12. If Is System was initially checked, then:
    1. Check Is System.
    2. Click Submit.
