Maintaining Sections
A section is a physical or logical area within a physical laboratory, based upon a division of work.
A section allows for job reports by section.
A section links to various User Groups to define which users are able to perform specific aspects of data entry, result release and validation of results for Schemes linked to the section.
A section is linked to Canned Comment Groups so that comments for schemes can be managed at a section level.
A Section Group is a collection of sections.
Section Scope
Sections are created either with org-scope or lab-scope. Whilst a section is a physical place that can be defined for the laboratory, logical sections can be defined for the organisation. This allows an org-scope scheme to be assigned to a logical section within the laboratory. An organisation or laboratory can contain multiple sections.
Sections are scoped by:
- Functional area within CCLAS—Global, Registration, Receipt, Analysis, Release, Validation, Authorisation, Report or Invoice.
Properties of a Section
A section can have:
- Access, release and validate user groups—Specific aspects of data entry/capture, result release and validation for schemes within the section is limited to users within these user groups.
- A results canned comment group—The canned comments in the canned comment group are available for use when entering result notes for schemes within the section.
- Multiple section non-work periods.
Use of Sections
A scheme can be linked to a section, such that, specific aspects of data entry/capture, result release and validation for schemes within the section is limited to users within the access, release and validate user groups, and the canned comments in the canned comment group are available for use when entering result notes for schemes within the section.
Work schedules, statistical analysis, sample through-put, costing, and reports can be then broken down by section.
Sections can be made members of various section groups which can be used for grouping statistics in status reports.
