Export Core MSE or Customised Screen Definitions

Use this activity to export core MSE or customised screen definitions to JSON files or to XML files in a ZIP file.

Note: This activity cannot export core CCLAS screen definitions because the Search for Customised Screen Definitions activity does not return core CCLAS screen definitions from a search where the Core Applications Only search criteria is checked, and does not consider core CCLAS screen definitions as personalised or customised, so they are not returned from a search where the Core Applications Only search criteria is cleared.

To export core CCLAS screen definitions, use the Export a Screen Definition from the Personalisation Tool activity.

Once exported, the screen definition can be customised using the customise screen definitions using an XML editor activity, and re-imported or imported into another instance using the Import Screen Definitions activity.

Activity Steps

  1. Access the custom CCCSD—Personalisation application from the main menu or quick launch to display the CCCSD—Search Personalisation screen.
  2. Enter the relevant search criteria and click Search.

Custom screen definitions that match the criteria display in the grid.

  3. Select the custom screen definitions to be exported.
  4. Click Export.

    The Export dialog box displays.

  5. Select one of the following options:
    • Export to JSON—One of more applications screens (personalised and customised) can be exported in the JSON file format when there is a requirement to move the application screen from one CCLAS instance to another. This can be to CCLAS instances that are the same version or a higher version.
    • Export to XML—One of more applications screens (core, personalised and customised) can be exported in the XML file format, in a ZIP file. These application screens can then be customised, packaged in zip format and imported as customised application screens.

The Click to Download dialog box displays.

  6. Select Click to Download.

The selected screen definitions are exported as a JSON or ZIP file, as required.
