Conditions for Defaulting Job Sample Tracking Sample Handling Action

When a job's Location Code is updated, if sample portions are tracked by job and the location:

• Has a Default Sample Handling Code, then the job's Sample Handling Code is inherited from the location.
• Does not have a Default Sample Handling Code, then the job's Sample Handling Code is left empty, but it must be supplied in the next job update.

For example, if the Location Code is RECEPTION, then the default method of handling may be SHELVE to indicate that all samples received at reception are placed on the shelves in the laboratory.
