Composite QC Cascade from Sample to Job

A job's Composite QC Status is evaluated from each underlying sample's Composite QC Status as follows.

Workflow Cascade when Auto Completion and/or Auto Validation is Active for Samples

Non-laboratory-batch Jobs

Given that a non-laboratory-batch job is having its Workflow Status re-evaluated by the cascade engine, and all samples associated with the job have their Completed Date stamped and the job's Workflow Status is not already Completed, then the following logic is used to determine whether the production job is completed or validated automatically using the AUTO_COMPLETE_JOBS and AUTO_VALIDATE_JOBS application preferences.

	AUTO_VALIDATE_JOBS is checked	AUTO_VALIDATE_JOBS is cleared
AUTO_COMPLETE_JOBS is checked	The job's Workflow Status is updated to Completed. The job's Completed Date is stamped. The job's Completed By User is set to the current user. The job's Validated Date is stamped. The job's Validated By User is set to the current user.	The job's Workflow Status is updated to job's . The job's Completed Date is stamped. The job's Completed By User is set to the current user. The job's Validated Date is not stamped (the Job needs to be validated manually).
AUTO_COMPLETE_JOBS is cleared	If the job's Workflow Status is not already Released, the job's Workflow Status is set to Released. The job's Completed Date is not stamped (the job needs to be completed manually). The job's Validated Date is not stamped (however, as soon as the job is completed manually, then the job becomes validated automatically). The job's Validated Date is not stamped (however, as soon as the job is completed manually, then the job becomes validated automatically).

If the job's Workflow Status is not already Released, the job's Workflow Status is set to Released.

Laboratory-batch Jobs

Given that a laboratory-batch job is having its Workflow Status re-evaluated by the cascade engine, and all samples associated with the job have their Completed Date stamped, and the job's Workflow Status is not already Completed, then the following logic is used to determine whether the production job is completed or validated automatically using the AUTO_COMPLETE_LAB_BATCH_JOBS and AUTO_VALIDATE_LAB_BATCH_JOBS application preferences.
