When the job's Workflow Status is Started while the miscellaneous scheme is already in the job (not after), then:
- If checked (default on deploy), then the Workflow Status of any related job scheme and sample scheme, where the scheme's Scheme Type is Miscellaneous, is set to Completed if it is not already completed.
- If cleared (or if the preference is missing), then the Workflow Status of any related job scheme and sample scheme, where the scheme's Scheme Type is Miscellaneous, remains unchanged.
Note: The AUTO_COMPLETE_MISC preference only sets the sample scheme to complete if the job is started. It does not cascade the sample-scheme's Workflow Status to the sample's Workflow Status. The job completion does not rely on this status for miscellaneous schemes. The AUTO_CASCADE_MISC preference allows the cascade of the sample scheme status to the sample. This effectively makes the miscellaneous scheme function like a prep scheme.
Typically the preference is not set at role or user level.
