Hidden Standard QC Sample

Description

A client sample that is also identified by the laboratory as a standard, to assess the accuracy (a measure of the bias of the method) of the analytical process and set the Standard Status, usually identified by an experienced registration user.

Properties

Primary Analytical Type Unknown
Primary QC Type Code <empty>
Secondary Analytical Type Standard
Secondary QC Type Code The code of a QC type that has a Primary Analytical Type of Standard.
Duplicate Original Sample <empty>
Spike Original Sample <empty>
Standard Code The code of a standard material.
Standard Lot Code The code of a standard lot associated with the standard material.

Processes used to Create Hidden Standard QC Samples

  • Update sample and change the Secondary Analytical Type to Standard and select the Standard Code and Standard Lot Code.

QC Assessments Performed

  1. Assessment of Results against Detection Limits

The sample scheme analyte's Internal Lower DL (defaults to the scheme version analyte's Internal Lower DL) and/or the sample scheme analyte's Internal Upper DL (defaults to the scheme version analyte's Internal Upper DL).

  2. Assessment of Results against Scheme or Surrogate Limits

    Using scheme limits:

The sample scheme's Scheme Limits Specification Code must be a specification that has a Specification Type of Scheme (defaults to the scheme's Limit Specification Code).

The specification contains limits for the matching Scheme Code, Scheme Version, Analyte Code and Internal Unit Code.

    or using surrogate limits:

The scheme version analyte's Surrogate Recovery Lower Limit and/or the scheme version analyte's Surrogate Recovery Upper Limit.

  3. Assessment of the Product Quality of Samples

    One or more sample specification.

Each sample specification's Specification Code must be a specification that has a Specification Type of Product.

The specification contains limits for the matching Scheme Code, Scheme Version, Analyte Code and Internal Unit Code.

  4. Assessment of the Accuracy of Analysis, due to the fact that its Secondary Analytical Type is Standard.

The sample's Secondary QC Type Code must be a QC type that has an Analytical Type of Standard.

The sample's Standard Code must be a standard that has a QC Type of Standard.

The sample's Standard Lot Code must be a standard lot within the standard.

The standard lot's Specification Code must be a specification that has a Specification Type of Standard.

The specification contains limits for the matching Scheme Code, Scheme Version, Analyte Code and Internal Unit Code.
