Contact Code
The code of the client contact, unique within the client. This field is mandatory
For contact creation:
- A Contact Code is either entered manually or generated by the syntax that is in scope and has a Syntax Type of Other and a Syntax Code of CONTACT_CODE_SYNTAX. Refer to Maintaining Client, Contact and Quote Syntaxes.
- Where no Contact Code is entered and the syntax is not found, or the syntax is found but the syntax cannot generate a code, then an error is raised.
- Where the entered or generated client contact's Contact Code is not unique within scope, then an error is raised.
- Where the entered or generated client contact's Contact Code does not satisfy code validation, that is, if the code contains non-printable characters, then an error is raised.
Note: Where the Contact Code field is flagged as mandatory in the screen personalisation, then the code must be entered manually. The syntax only comes in to play where the field is not flagged as mandatory in the screen personalisation.

Contact Name
The name of the contact.

Description
The description of the contact.

Contact Category
The category assigned to the contact. Selected from categories of Category Type of CONTACTS.

Is Active
Indicates whether the entity is available in drop-down lists. An inactive entity cannot be selected for use.

Title
The salutation used for the contact. A salutation may be selected from the drop-down list that contains active salutations from System Table Codes with a Table Type of CC01—Salutation, as configured in the MSETBL—Table Code Service application. Refer to Maintaining System Table Codes.

First Name
The first name of the contact.

Middle Name
The middle name of the contact.

Last Name
The last name of the contact.

Full Name
The full name of the contact. If Full Name field does not have a value, upon submit, it is populated by combining the values from the First Name, Middle Name and Last Name fields. Effectively concatenation occurs only once, unless the Full Name is cleared again.

Job Title
The title of the job or position of the contact within the client's company.

Telephone
Tjhe telephone number for the contact.

Department
The department in which the contact works.

Mobile
The mobile telephone number for the contact.

Email
The email address for the client contact. Maximum 256 characters. The check box next to the email address indicates whether it is used automatically when distributing reports to this contact, that is, a pre-set reporting method of type email is indicated for reports.

Pager
The pager number for the contact.

Fax
The fax number for the contact. The check box next to the fax number indicates that it is automatically used when distributing information to this contact. If is checked, then Fax is pre-set as a reporting method. If cleared, then an alternative fax address for reporting can be added as a reporting method. Even if the check box checked, an alternative (in addition) fax address can be created for the contact.

The instant messaging ID for the contact.

Last Submission Date
The date-time at which the last submission of samples was received from this contact.

Report Printer
The printer on which to print reports for the contact.

Report Printer Network Address
The full network address of the Report Printer. Display only.

Use Client Address
Indicates whether to use the main address details of the client for the contact. The address that is extracted for a report request's client and a report request job's client is populated as follows:
- If the job has a contact, then:
- If the Use Client Address is selected, then the address is set to the client's default address, if a default address is defined for the client, otherwise the address is left empty.
- If the Use Client Address check box is cleared, then the address is set to the contact's default address, if a default address is defined for the contact, otherwise the address is left empty.
- If the job does not have a contact, then:
- If the Use Client Address is selected, then the address is set to the client's default address, if a default address is defined for the client, otherwise the address is left empty.
Note that a new address for the contact can be created by using the Create Contact Address grid flow option on the Address tab.
- If the job has a contact, then:

Document
Documents can be uploaded, downloaded and removed from this entity. The additional documents can be used for a variety of purposes, for example:
- Linking additional documentation to an entity, such as a client, contact or project.
- Reporting additional details about the entity.

Image
A logo can be uploaded, downloaded or removed from the entity.

ERP Contact Number
The contact number for the client in the company's enterprise resource planning system.

The list of addresses for the contact.

Additional Report Method Tab
The list of additional report methods for the contact.

Report Method Type
The method of distributing reports to the client contact: Email, Print, Fax, Folder, Other.

Details
The details of the report distribution method.

Device Code
Where the Report Method Type is:
- Email—The recipient of the emailed report, entered as an email address, to a maximum of 256 characters.
- Print—The printer ID.
- Fax—The fax ID.
- Folder—The URL of the folder.
- Other—The device details.

Is Active
Indicates whether the device is available in drop-down lists when selecting a category for an entity. An inactive entity cannot be selected for use.

The description of the device. Maximum length of 400 characters.

Notes associated with the client contact.

Notes
Notes on the contact. Rich text formatting can be used to control the appearance of the information, with basic formatting ribbon and hyperlink entry field. For example, the name of a contact can be entered in bold, the telephone number in italics, and hyperlinks can be used. The formatting is saved along with the actual content.
