Header
- Organisation Scope
Indicates whether this entity is available organisation-wide or laboratory-wide.
- Checked—The entity is available to users who are logged into any laboratory within the organisation.
- Unchecked—The entity is only available to users who are logged into the current laboratory.
Setting the quote's scope upon successful creation depends upon the user's security level for the CCQUOTE:CREATE resource. The possible security levels for the resource, from greater scope to lower scope, are:
- full—full
- 3—LAB AND ORG
- 2—ORG ONLY
- 1—LAB ONLY
A user can have multiple roles, and each role can contain different rights. Any of these role-right combinations may contain the resource.
If the resource does not exist across all role-right combinations for the user, then the user has no access to the resource. Otherwise the user's security level for the resource is determined as the greatest scope across all role-right combinations for the user. For example, if a user has Role1 that contains RightA, and Right A contains security level 2 for the resource, and the same user has Role2 that contains RightB, and RightB contains security level 1 for the resource, then the user has a security level of 2 for the resource.
The selection in this field can determine the visibility for other fields in this form, and the content of various drop-down selection lists.
-
Quote Code
The unique code assigned to the quote. Upon quote creation:
-
The Quote Code can be either entered manually or generated by the syntax that is in scope and has a Syntax Type of Quote and a Syntax Code of QUOTE_CODE_SYNTAX.
-
Where no Quote Code is entered and the syntax is not found, or the syntax is found but the syntax cannot generate a code, then an error is raised.
-
Where the entered or generated Quote Code is not unique within the organisation, then an error is raised.
-
Where the entered or generated Quote Code does not satisfy code validation, that is, if the code contains non-printable characters, then an error is raised.
Note: Where the Quote Code field is flagged as mandatory in the screen personalisation, then the code must be entered manually. The syntax only comes in to play where the Quote Code field is not flagged as mandatory in the screen personalisation.
-

-
If the quote has lab-scope, and a lab-scope scheme is added to it, then the quote scheme's Price Code defaults from the lab-scope scheme.
-
If a price schedule is created for the quote scheme, then the price code is set to a concatenation of the Quote Code and a numerical running sequence of price schedules created for the quote.
-
-
Scheme row—Price Type
The type of pricing for the price code. Display only. A scheme's Price Type can be:
-
Not Priced—The scheme and its analytes are not costed nor invoiced.
-
Sample-Based—The scheme is charged on a ’per sample’ basis with underlying granularity to allow for sliding scale charging based on sample numbers associated with the invoice, regardless of the scheme type or the number of invoiceable analytes in the scheme associated with the invoice. The scheme must be linked to a Price Code where the price code's Price Type is Sample-Based.
-
Scheme-Based—The scheme is charged on a ’per Scheme’ basis with underlying granularity to allow for sliding scale charging based on the number of costed or invoiceable analytes in the scheme associated with the invoice. The scheme must be linked to a Price Code where the price code's Price Type is Scheme-Based.
-
Unit-Based—The scheme is charged on a ’per unit’ basis, where a unit is typically a measure of duration (for example, based on the number of hours taken to perform a job scheme, or the number of kilometres travelled for preparation), with underlying granularity to allow for sliding scale charging based on the number of invoiceable units in the scheme associated with the invoice. The scheme must be linked to a Price Code where the price code's Price Type is Unit-Based.
-
Analyte-Based—The scheme is charged based on the presence of a result on a ’per analyte’ basis with underlying granularity to allow for sliding scale charging based on the magnitude of the analytical result. The invoiceable analytes within the scheme must be linked to a Price Code where the price code's Price Type is Analyte-Based.

However when a quote is applied to an invoice, a different price book may be applied.
Where a price schedule is created for the quote scheme, such that it is applied in preference to the price schedule from an invoice's price book, then:
-
The base price is the base price as specified in the quote scheme's price schedule.
-
-
Scheme row—Base Price Note
The base note for the scheme, to accompany the base price on an invoice. Defaults to the price schedule's Base Price Note for the price schedule in the first price book that matches the quote's Start Date and Currency, found by searching all price catalogues in the client's Price Catalogue Group, ordered by position within the group, and by searching all price books within those price catalogues, ordered by the price book's identifier.
-
Scheme row—Fixed Block Price
Where a price schedule is not created for the quote scheme and only a discount is applied for the quote, then:
-

A client's default price book for quotes is the first price book that matches the quote's Start Date and Currency, found by searching all price catalogues in the client's Price Catalogue Group, ordered by position within the group, and by searching all price books within those price catalogues, ordered by the price book's identifier. However when a quote is applied to an invoice, a different price book may be applied.
Where a price schedule is created for the quote scheme, such that it is applied in preference to the price schedule from an invoice's price book, then:
-
The fixed block price is the fixed block price as specified in the quote scheme's price schedule.
-
-
Scheme row—Fixed Block Price Note
The block price note for the scheme, to accompany the block price on an invoice. defaults to the price schedule's Block Price Note for the price schedule in the first price book that matches the quote's Start Date and Currency, found by searching all price catalogues in the client's Price Catalogue Group, ordered by position within the group, and by searching all price books within those price catalogues, ordered by the price book's identifier.
-
Scheme row—Estimate Price

Note that the search criteria currently includes 'and where the isAnalytesRemain flag is true'. This raises a problem (known defect) for the scenario where all invoiceable analytes are added to the quote scheme, upon which the quote scheme's isAnalytesRemain flag is set to false. When a) non-invoiceable analytes in the scheme version are changed to invoiceable, or b) new invoiceable analytes are added to the current scheme version (possible for lab scheme only), or c) a new scheme version is created with new invoiceable analytes, then a subsequent quote scheme search does not return the scheme as the quote scheme's isAnalytesRemain flag is still set to false. To get around this either a) remove one of the analytes from the quote and redo the search, or personalise the quote screen to add the isAnalytesRemain property to the top grid containing the quote schemes and check the flag and submit the change. This then allows the search to find the scheme.
