Overview

Logging out allows the applications to close in an orderly manner, and allows the number of concurrent users, which is important for licencing, to be updated.

The state in which the Pool Control and Security Manager applications are left and the CCLAS EL licence slot depends on how you exit CCLAS EL applications.

Process

When you exit any CCLAS EL application:

If the AutoLogout CCLAS program setting is enabled, then any other CCLAS EL applications running are automatically closed.
If the AutoDisconnect CCLAS program setting is enabled, then the Pool Control and Security Manager applications are closed.

Note: Typically this setting is disabled to keep the Pool Control and Security Manager processes running after the CCLAS EL V3 or V2 Menu application is terminated, allowing you to launch other CCLAS EL applications directly from shortcuts or the command line without using the CCLAS EL Menu.
If the AutoLicenceOut GLOBAL setting is enabled, if the application was the last running CCLAS EL application, then the licence slot is released by having its status changed from In use to Not in use.

From the V3 Menu:

Click to display the user name, laboratory code and server.
Select Logout.

From the V2 Menu:

Select the Exit option.

From a CCLAS EL application:

Select the File » Close menu option to close the main window of the CCLAS EL application.
Select the File » Logout menu option.
