Overview

Location types, for example, racks in sheds, sheds, cold stores or pressured rooms, are preconfigured so that when samples for a job arrive in the laboratory, or when the samples of a job are containerised at the end of analysis and placed in store, the samples are linked to a specific type of location. Location types are flagged as active for sample tracking use.

This process is pertinent to laboratory managers and sample store personnel who configure the sample storage environment for the laboratory.

Process

The maintenance of location types for sample tracking is managed by the Sample Track application.

Location types are maintained using simple SCRUD (search, create, review, update, delete) functionality.
