Create a subcontract batch job

  1. Locate subcontracting samples to return samples to the BATCH—Batch, then select samples for the subcontract batch job. Selected rows have their background colour set to an inverse colour.
  2. Click the Create batch main menu item to open the BATCH—DialogBatch Form.
  3. Select the Job template used as a basis to created the laboratory batch job.
  4. Either enter the Job number, or select a Job number syntax from the list and click ... . Where a syntax is used, the number increments every time ... is clicked, provided that the unique number sequence was set up with # (hash) and not ~ (tilde).
  5. Select the mode of applying QC samples to the laboratory batch schemes, either:
    1. Select QC none to create no new QC samples for the laboratory batch job.
    2. Select QC scheme and a Scheme code to create QC samples according to the QC requirements from the first job scheme of the selected samples that has the selected Scheme code registered on it.
    3. To change the QC requirements taken from the original job scheme:
      1. Click ... next to the scheme to open the BATCH—ProfJobSchemeEditANA Form that contains the QC details for the scheme.
      2. Select the General tab to change the QC selections and placements, as required.
      3. Select the Files tab to view the content of QC files that configure the actual QC types to use and any job scheme link.
      4. Click STD file... to open the BATCH—QCFile Form containing standard QC types. Standard QC types already attached to the job scheme display in the Selected QC types list. Remove existing standard types from the job scheme, and attach others from the Available QC types, as required. Click OK to add the standard QC types to the batching scheme, or click Cancel to not proceed.
      5. Click BLK file... to open the BATCH—QCFile Form containing blank QC types. Blank QC types already attached to the job scheme display in the Selected QC types list. Remove existing blank types from the job scheme, and attach others from the Available QC types, as required. Click OK to add the blank QC types to the batching scheme, or click Cancel to not proceed.
      6. Click SPK file... to open the BATCH—QCFile Form containing spike QC types. Spike QC types already attached to the job scheme display in the Selected QC types list. Remove existing spike types from the job scheme, and attach others from the Available QC types, as required. Click OK to add the spike QC types to the batching scheme, or click Cancel to not proceed.
      7. Where multiple schemes are selected for batching, update the Link scheme code, as required.
      8. Click Apply to apply the changes for the laboratory batch job, or click Close to not proceed.
      9. scheme, click ... next to the scheme, change the QC requirements, then click Apply to apply the changes for the batching, or click Close to not proceed.
    4. Select QC template to create QC samples according to matching scheme codes in the selected Job template, and where no matching scheme exists in the template job, then from the scheme.
  6. Check the Create paperwork check box if job paperwork is required.
  7. Click OK to generate the laboratory batch job, or click Cancel to not proceed.
