Select located samples for a subcontract batch job
- Locate subcontracting samples to display samples on the BATCH—Batch Form.

Once samples are returned, to further filter the samples:
- Click Filter to open the FilterQuery form.
- Build the SQL string:
- Double-click a Field to add it to the SQL string.
- Double-click an Operator to add it to the SQL string.
- Double-click a SQL component to add it to the SQL string.
- Make required adjustments to the SQL string.
- To test the SQL string, click Test SQL to display the test result.
- To clear the SQL string, click Clear.
- To cancel the search, click Cancel.
- To apply the search criteria, click OK to close the form and display the records matching the search criteria in the BATCH—Batch Form.

To sort the records:
- Click the header of the column on which to base the first level sort.
- Optionally, hold down the Control key and click the header of a subsequent column on which to base the next level sort, then repeat to select further levels of sorting,
- Click Sort asc or Sort desc to sort the rows in ascending or descending order, respectively, based upon the selected sort levels.
- To select single samples for a subcontract batch job, by scanning a CUID with a barcode reading or entering the CUID with the keyboard:
- Select the Cuid column. (Every unknown sample, quality control sample, sample split, sample replicate, sample reread or laboratory batch sample entered into CCLAS is automatically assigned a CUID (CCLAS unique identifier).)
- Click the Select menu item to open the BATCH—SelectLine Form.
- Enter or scan the CUID.
- Click Add to locate to the row containing the CUID in the Cuid column, or click Cancel to not proceed. Selected rows have their background colour set to an inverse colour.
- Repeat steps 1 through 4 to add other CUIDs to the selection list, allowing for easy selection of a series of samples.
- Once all required samples are selected, click Cancel to close the form.
- To select a range of samples for a subcontract batch job:
- Click a row to select it, and use the Control and Shift keys to select more contiguous or non-contiguous rows. Re-click a row to deselect it. Selected rows have their background colour set to an inverse colour.
