Add samples to the instrument run list

  1. To add an empty row to the instrument run list (an empty row may added already upon form open):

    1. Either click Add from the main menu, or click the down-arrow next to Add and select Sample from the menu.
  2. To associate a row (empty or otherwise) with a sample:

    1. Click the drop-down arrow on the Job column for the required row and select a job to populate the row with the first CUID and first scheme in the job.
    2. Where the File » Properies main menu option is enabled, to further filter the grid content based on column criteria:
      1. Select File » Properties main menu option and filter data using column criteria. Refer to Using the Screen Interface.
    3. To select a different scheme in the job, click the drop-down arrow on the Scheme column and select the scheme.
    4. To select a different sample in the job, either click the drop-down arrow on the Cuid column, Type column or on the Ident column, and select the sample CUID, type or ident, respectively.
  3. To add the rest of the samples for a job and scheme:

    1. Select the last row (this action only works where the last row is selected and has a sample associated with it).
    2. Click the down-arrow next to Add and select Job from the menu to add the rest of the samples from the job, following on from the current sample in the last row.
  4. To add the rest of the schemes in the job following on from associating a row with a sample:

    1. Select the last row (this action only works where the last row is selected and has a sample associated with it).
    2. Click the down-arrow next to Add and select Scheme from the menu to add the rest of the schemes for the sample from the job.
  5. To add a pre-made instrument run list to the current instrument run list:

    1. Click the down-arrow next to Add and select Run from the menu to open the dialog box from which to select the InstrumentRunList.RUN file.
    2. Locate and select the .RUN file and click Open to add the samples from the file to the instrument run list.
  6. To add a dynamic run list to the instrument run list

    1. Click the down-arrow next to Add and select Dynamic Run from the menu to open the SAMANA—CriteriaInstrument Form.
    2. Select the Instrument and Scheme.
    3. Select the fields to Sort by.
    4. Select the Analyte status and Lab batch status.
    5. To limit the selection of samples based on when they were registered, select the Dates.
    6. Click Query data to display the samples matching the criteria in the grid.
    7. Select samples from the grid using the Control and Shift keys.
    8. Click Apply to close the form and add the selected samples to the instrument run list.
  7. To sort sample in the instrument run list:

    1. Select the column on which to sort.
    2. To sort in ascending order, select Edit » Sort asc from the main menu.
    3. To sort in descending order, select Edit » Sort desc from the main menu.
  8. To move samples in the instrument run list:

    1. Select the sample(s) to be moved.
    2. Select Edit » Cut or Edit » Copy from the main menu.
    3. Select Edit » Paste from the main menu.
  9. To delete samples from the instrument run list:

    1. Select the sample(s) in the instrument run list that are to be deleted, and click Delete.
  10. Where custom forms are available below the Add main menu option, to use one of these to locate sample schemes to populate the instrument run list:

    1. Click the down-arrow next to the Add main menu option and select the custom form to display it.
    2. Interact with the form, as required, and click OK to close the form and execute it, or click Cancel to close the form and not proceed.
