Maintain program settings for a staff account (3.0.6)

These activities pertain to CCLAS EL version 3.0.6.

Note: The menu Save As, Delete interacts with the individual rows of the record (settings) and these are the actions described in these activities/procedures below. The Save, Save As and Delete found in the bottom of the interface (in gray) pertain to the user (including CCLASMGR). Please be aware of what you are trying to do and click accordingly so avoid any confusion.

Note: Any of these steps should only ever be performed by an experienced superuser.

To search for program settings for a staff account:

  1. Click Staff in the CCLAS EL menu or run the Staff.exe application in the Exe folder to display the Staff Form. Where the MainListViewGrid Program Settings - STAFFAPP is enabled, then the list-view grid displays grid lines.

  2. Select the Staff » Staff codes node.
  3. Double-click the particular staff code to display the Staff Code form and select the Settings tab. The Edit1ListViewColumnn Program Settings - STAFF define the columns of the grid.
  4. If no query form is used to filter the laboratories and a current filter is defined, then the program settings display in the list-view panel.
  5. If a query form is used to filter the program settings, then the main screen displays the query form contained in the StaffSettingUserQuery.SCR script file. Enter the criteria into the fields on the form, and click Query. The program settings matching the criteria display in the list-view panel.

To create a program setting:

  1. In the Folder Items panel, select the node for the applicable CCLAS application or setting.
  2. Right-click the list-view panel (on the right side) and select New from the drop-down menu to display the AddNew form.
  3. Enter the New code. Note that there are settings that must be in numerical sequence, for example, Edit1ListViewColumnn and MDERunn.
  4. Click OK to create the program setting or click Cancel.
    If OK, the Staff Settings dialog pops up.
    1. Update the entity, as required.
    2. Click OK to persist or Cancel to revert to current values.
    3. Close the dialog

To copy a program setting:

  1. In the Folder Items panel, select the node for the applicable CCLAS application or setting.

  2. Go to the Settings tab

  3. Select the row containing the Setting Name in the list-view panel.
  4. Right-click and select Save As from the menu to create the new program setting. Update the entity, as required.

To update CCLASMGR program settings in the local laboratory from the GLOBAL laboratory (only available where you are logged in to a local laboratory and not logged in to the GLOBAL laboratory, and where you have full access rights):

  1. Click Upd Global from the Staff Code>Settings menu. This will display CCLASMGR staff settings from the GLOBAL laboratory that do not exist in the local laboratory (typical after a CCLAS upgrade).
  2. Check the selection box next to those CCLASMGR staff settings wanted for the local laboratory.
  3. Click Upd global to copy the settings from the GLOBAL laboratory to the local laboratory.
  4. Click OK to close the form and save any changes made on the Access tab, or click Cancel to close the form.

To add/modify staff settings for a general staff account different from CCLASMGR default settings (Not applicable for GLOBAL or USERGLOBALSETTINGS program settings):

  1. In the Folder Items panel, select the node for the applicable CCLAS application or setting.
  2. Click New from the Staff Code>Settings menu. This will open the Modify staff settings dialog.
  3. Select program settings from the full set of program settings defined for CCLASMGR, and use the to add the setting (Cntrl + select to do multi select). Use to add all settings. Use or buttons to do the reverse.
  4. Click OK to close the form and add the selected settings to the user's program settings, then proceed to update the setting's value, or click Cancel.

To review a program setting:

  1. In the Staff Code>Staff tab, select the node for the applicable CCLAS application or setting.
  2. Double-click a Setting Name to open the Staff settings form (not applicable for an Access level program setting).

To update the description of a Staff setting:

  1. In the Staff Code>Staff tab, select the node for the applicable CCLAS application or setting.
  2. Right-click the setting and select Edit description from the menu to display the Staff Setting form.
  3. Edit the necessary fields.
  4. Click Save to close the form to update the details, or click Close to close the form.

To update the value of a program setting:

  1. In the tab, select the node for the applicable CCLAS application or setting.
  2. Double-click a Setting Name to open the StaffSettingsEdit Form.
  3. Enter or select the value for the program setting.
  4. Click Save to persist the changes, or click Cancel.

To delete a program setting for a general staff account:

  1. In the Staff Code>Staff, select the node for the applicable CCLAS application or setting.
  2. Select the program setting for deletion.
  3. Click Delete.

Note: Deletes are sometimes necessary on regular staff users. Version 3.x prevents the user from deleting CCLASMGR as it may interfere with the performance of the application.
