Maintaining Canned Comments

In commercial laboratories, standard clauses or phrases from regulatory documents (such as the ASTM standards) are placed onto reports with the results, or in place of the results. To enhance the entry of these standard clauses and phrases, comments are pre-configured for use.
Canned comments are scoped as:
- GLOBAL—Accessible across the global laboratory.
- PROFILE—Accessible from within the Job application.
- MDE—Accessible from within the Manual Data Entry application.
- USER—Accessible from within custom scripts.
This process is pertinent to laboratory managers who configure and authorise certificate reports for the laboratory.
Process
Canned comments are maintained using the Setup application. You need specific rights to have visibility to this application.
Canned comments are maintained using simple SCRUD (search, create, review, update, delete) functionality under the Setup » Comments node, and then by scope of the comment: GLOBAL, PROFILE, MDE or USER. You need specific rights to have visibility to these nodes.
