Formula Syntax

Most Spreadsheet functions are composed of keywords and arguments. Every Spreadsheet function contains a unique keyword. Arguments pass data to the function which is used in the calculation. Not all functions require arguments. The arguments for a function are enclosed in parentheses and immediately follow the keyword.

The function keyword follows the equal sign. It can be entered in lowercase or uppercase characters. After the function is entered, the Spreadsheet records the function keyword in uppercase characters, regardless of how it was entered.
