CCLAS EL System Requirements

This document indicates the server and workstation requirements of CCLAS EL 2.48.* and CCLAS EL 3.0.* as well as recommendations on peripheral devices.

Important: System specifications and disk space requirements depend on anticipated data volumes and growth. Datamine recommends a scoping study to determine exact requirements. Datamine also recommends that a second environment be set up for testing and training purposes, in order to reduce the load on the production server and isolate it from issues in the testing and training environments. For high-availability solutions, additional hardware is required. This should be discussed with your Datamine representatives during the implementation study and budgeting phase.

Dedicated CCLAS EL Application File Server

CPU	2 cores (less than 25 users), 4 cores (greater than 25 users) 3 GHz or faster

Datamine recommends Zebra branded barcode printers and scanners.

Virtualisation

Virtualisation technology is widely used with good results for the entire suite of Intelligent Mining Solutions (IMS) products. This includes server virtualisation, application virtualisation, and cloud-based virtual environments provided by vendors such as Microsoft, VMWare, and Amazon.

Datamine takes advantage of some of this technology in our own development environments. No conflicts have been reported, however, due to the wide variety of vendors and applications, Datamine is unable to test all virtualisation possibilities and therefore cannot offer explicit support for any of them.
