Maintain Blast Cost Items

Use this activity to define general costing items that can be applied to different parts of the drill and blast workflow.

Activity Steps

  1. On the DataBlast Application Menu, click Blast Costs Maintenance.

    The Blast Cost Items Maintenance screen displays.

  2. Select the Blast Cost Items tab.

    The blast cost items display in a filterable spreadsheet-style grid.

  3. To add a cost item:
    1. Click Add Item.
    2. Select whether to make the Cost Active.
    3. Select the Cost Type from Measure, Drill and Charge.
    4. Enter a Cost Description.
    5. Select the Cost Target from:
      • Pattern—One-off costs applied to a pattern.
      • Hole—Cost per hole.
      • Hole Detail—For example, a cost for each dip recorded against a hole.
      • Charge Deck—Cost per deck, with optional cost per length, per mass or per volume.
    6. Select the Cost Basis from Single, Length, Mass and Volume.
    7. Select the Cost Source from:
      • Design Cost—Based on planned drill and charge design data.
      • As-Built Cost—Based on operational/as-built data, which may include inferred values.
      • Design & As-Built Cost
    8. Select the Effective Date.

      When you edit the effective date, the previous entry is retained as a historical cost. Historical cost entries are retained so that reports can be generated using the prices that applied at the report date.

    9. Enter the Unit Price.
    10. Select the Cost Units; that is, the unit of measurement of the Unit Price.
  4. Click Save Changes.
