Maintain Files in the Mine Site Database

You can store files in the mine site database if required. These files display in the DataBlast Items Tree, but to work with the files, you need to open them in an external application as applicable for the file type.

You can maintain files while in any DataBlast Ignite module.

Files added to the DataBlast Items Tree can have a maximum file name length of 256 characters.

Activity Steps

1. To store a file:
   1. Right-click an object in the DataBlast Items Tree and select Add File from the menu.
   2. Browse for and select the file.
   3. Click Open.
2. To open a stored file, right-click the file and select Open File from the menu.

   The file opens in the default Windows application for that file type, or else a Windows prompt displays to select an external application.

3. To save a stored file:
   1. Right-click an object in the DataBlast Items Tree and select Save File from the menu.
   2. Browse for a file location and enter a file name as required.
   3. Click Save.
4. To rename a stored file:
   1. Right-click the file and select Rename File from the menu.

      The Rename Item screen displays.

   2. Enter a new name and file extension.
   3. Click OK.
5. To delete a stored file:
   1. Right-click the file and select Delete File from the menu.

      A confirmation message displays.

   2. Click OK.
