Define Fixed Targets
Use this activity to define a simple collar target and toe target for a drill pattern. This activity is an alternative to Assign Surfaces to a Drill Pattern. For context, see Design a Drill Pattern.
Activity Steps
- Select the Design module.
- Right-click a drill pattern in the DataBlast Items Tree and select Edit Selected Drill Pattern in Designer from the menu.
The drill pattern displays in design mode.
- On the Drill Pattern Designer Ribbon Menu, in the Surfaces group, click Define Fixed Targets.
The Fixed Targets screen displays.
- Select the Collar Target from:
- Surface—If selected, you need to assign a collar surface. See Assign Surfaces to a Drill Pattern.
- Fixed RL—Enter a fixed relative level (RL).
- Select the Toe Target from:
- Surface—If selected, you need to assign a drill toe surface.
- Fixed RL
- Fixed Length—Enter a fixed length.
Note: The toe target is also used as the excavation surface.
- Select the Projection Style from:
- Collar Down (default)—The collar target is used as the pattern anchor surface.
- Toe Up—The toe target is used as the pattern anchor surface.
- Select whether to Use Charge Surface. If checked, either assign a charge toe surface or DataBlast Ignite uses the bottom of the hole as the default charge toe position.
- Click Accept.
- To check each surface assignment:
- Deselect all objects except the drill pattern in the DataBlast Items Tree.
- Use the options on the Layers Toolbar (Drill Pattern Designer) to toggle the display of each of the assigned surfaces.
- To review the settings:
- On the Drill Pattern Designer ribbon menu, in the Projection Summary group, click Projection Style Summary.
The Projection Summary displays the selected settings for the targets and a summary of the assigned surfaces.
- Click Close.
- On the Drill Pattern Designer ribbon menu, in the Projection Summary group, click Projection Style Summary.
- Click Save Changes.
