Design Module

These videos, recorded using an earlier version of DataBlast Pro, provide an introduction to the Design module.

In the Design module, you can import or create mine blocks, design lines, surfaces and strata. See Object Types and Properties. You can use computer assisted drawing (CAD) controls to modify these object types in their respective maintenance (edit) modes.

However, the core functionality of the Design module is to import and create drill patterns. A drill pattern contains the collar and toe positions for each drill hole. In DataBlast Ignite, both the charge toe and the drill toe can be designed for each hole. You can create drill patterns based on imported surfaces and design limits.

When you set up a new drill pattern project, you need to know the boundaries of where you will create the holes. One of these boundaries is the survey topography, which is a digital representation of the natural landform or the current mining landform. That topography is the surface that you will be drilling from. Holes are projected down from this surface.
