Run a Bootleg Check

If you are creating a grid of holes where you have already removed a layer of material from above, you don't want the collar of the new holes to be directly under the toes of the previous layer of holes. There may be explosive material left, or the surface at that point may be preconditioned (that is, fragmented). A bootleg check helps identify which holes should be moved for safer drilling and charging.

Activity Steps

  1. Select the Design module.
  2. Select the drill patterns in the DataBlast Items Tree.

The drill patterns display in the Viewport.

  3. Right-click the new drill pattern in the DataBlast Items Tree and select Edit Selected Drill Pattern in Designer from the menu.

The drill pattern displays in design mode.

  4. On the Layers Toolbar (Design Module), click Show Bootleg.

Holes that display with green circles pass the bootleg check and holes with red circles fail the bootleg check.

  5. If any holes display with red circles:
    1. On the View Toolbar, click View - Top.
    2. Move holes as required.
    3. Click Save Changes.
