Surfaces

Surfaces are 3D representations of geological structures, excavation surfaces, and so on. Surfaces are derived from mine design software such as Surpac, Datamine (design surfaces as .dxf files) or from triangulation of points calculated by DataBlast Ignite (toe or charge surface) and from Survey (text strings of points for triangulation or kriging).

Surfaces are used to:

  • Limit the length of holes in Drill Pattern Design.
  • Provide context to pattern locations.
  • Provide data for the Excavation Compliance report that examines the relationship between position of the toe of the charge and the surveyed surface after excavation.
  • Define geologically bounded charge patterns, such are required for through-seam blasting.
