Tie up a Non-Electric Initiation Pattern
Activity Steps
- Select the Initiation module.
- Select a non-electric initiation pattern in the DataBlast Items Tree.
The initiation pattern displays in the Viewport.
- Add dummy holes as required:
- On the Initiation Pattern Ribbon Menu, in the Non-Electric Commands group, click Add Dummy Hole.
- Click the location for the hole on the initiation pattern.
The Z value of the dummy hole location is the average Z value of the collar positions of the holes in the initiation pattern.
- Specify an initiation point:
- On the Initiation Pattern ribbon menu, click Add Initiation Point.
- Select the hole or dummy hole.
- Tie up the initiation pattern:
- In the Detonator/Cord Selection screen, expand the tree and drag products to the top section of the screen.
The dragged products display as buttons in the top section of the screen.
Note: Click to select the product in the tree before dragging it. If you right-click a button, you can remove it. If you drag another product onto a button, an option to replace the product wherever it was used displays. The Utilities/View Ribbon Menu includes an option to show or hide the Detonator/Cord Selection screen.
- To remove a button, right-click the button and select Remove Button from the menu.
- To tie up individual holes:
- Select the product button in the Detonator/Cord Selection screen.
- On the Initiation Pattern ribbon menu, click Add Trunk Line Single.
- Select the origin hole.
- Select the destination hole(s).
- Press Esc or Enter to complete the selection and calculate the timing.
Tips: The Layers Toolbar (Initiation Module) includes options to show or hide the calculated delays. You might consider hiding data such as the pattern boundary, hole IDs and hole tracks to simplify the diagram when tying up a non-electric initiation pattern.
- To tie up a line of holes:
- On the Initiation Pattern ribbon menu, specify the Auto Search Width.
- Select the product button in the Detonator/Cord Selection screen.
- On the Initiation Pattern ribbon menu, click Add Trunk Line Auto.
- Select the first hole in the line.
- Select the last hole in the line.
- Repeat steps 4 and 5 if you have multiple lines to connect.
- Press Esc or Enter to complete the selection and calculate the timing.
- To change the product used to tie up two holes, drag the new product button to the trunk line between the holes.
- To change the product used to tie up many holes, without changing the available buttons:
- Select a trunk line between two holes.
- On the Initiation Pattern ribbon menu, click Select Like Trunk Lines.
- On the Initiation Pattern ribbon menu, click Swap Trunk Line Product.
The Non-Electric Product Selection screen displays.
- Expand the tree and select the product.
- Click Select.
- To change the product used to tie up some holes, without changing all trunk lines of that product or the available buttons:
- Select the trunk lines between holes.
- On the Initiation Pattern ribbon menu, click Swap Trunk Line Product.
The Non-Electric Product Selection screen displays.
- Expand the tree and select the product.
- Click Select.
- To change the product used to tie up holes by changing a button:
- Drag a product to an existing button.
A prompt to select whether the change the product on all ties displays.
- Click Yes.
- Drag a product to an existing button.
- To delete a trunk line between two holes:
- Select the trunk line.
- Press Delete.
- In the Detonator/Cord Selection screen, expand the tree and drag products to the top section of the screen.
- Click Save Changes.
