Maintain Mobile Processing Units (MPUs)

MPUs are also known as mobile mixing units or mobile manufacturing units. The vehicle has storage vessels for the different components of the bulk explosive; for example, ANFO, diesel and emulsion. MPUs are used to manufacture or blend bulk explosives at the location of blasting. The MPU delivers the explosive directly into the blast hole via a pump or auger.

Note: Refer to the manufacturer's product specifications when adding or editing an MPU.

Access MPU maintenance:

1. On the DataBlast Application Menu, select Site Maintenance.

   The Site Maintenance screen displays.

2. Select the Resources » MPUs node.

   The MPU Maintenance Ribbon Menu displays.

To add an MPU:

1. Click Add Mobile Processing Unit (MPU).
2. Enter the Name.
3. Enter the Manufacturer and Model if required.
4. Update the Measurement Units if required. Default: Single Units.
5. Update the Display Colour if required. Default: Black.
6. Select whether the MPU is operated by a Contractor.
7. If Contractor is checked, enter the Contractor Name.
8. Enter a Serial Number if required.
9. Click Save Changes.

To deactivate an MPU:

1. Uncheck Active for the MPU.

   The MPU displays with strike-through text.

2. Click Save Changes.
