Configure Error Handling and Logging for the DataBlast Service

Activity Steps

  1. On the DataBlast Application Menu, select Site Maintenance.

    The Site Maintenance screen displays.

  2. Select the Service Control node.
  3. Select the Service tab.
  4. Select whether to Log Exceptions to Bug Tracking. If checked, exceptions are logged to the diagnostic logs and sent as emails (if email notifications have been configured). See Configure Email Notifications. If unchecked, exceptions are still logged to the diagnostic logs.
  5. Select whether to Suppress Sending Database Timeouts to Bug Tracking.
  6. Select whether to Suppress Sending Database Connection Errors to Bug Tracking.
  7. Enter the Bug Tracking Identity Name.
  8. Update the following fields if required:
    1. Flood Protection Interval
    2. Flood Protection Cap
    3. Flood Protection Cap Period
  9. To configure diagnostic logging, complete the following fields as required.
    1. Update the Number of Logs to Keep.
    2. Select the Logging Level from Low, Medium and High.

      Note: The locations for log files are the DataBlast subfolders under C:\ProgramData\Datamine. The DataBlast Server installation includes a tool to view these diagnostic logs. See Troubleshooting.

  10. Click Save Changes.
