Create a Charge Pattern
Activity Steps (Method 1)
- Select the Charge module.
- Right-click a drill pattern in the DataBlast Items Tree and select Add Charge Pattern from the menu.
The Charge Pattern screen displays.
- Enter a Name. Default: Concatenation of CP_ and the currently displayed active pattern, if applicable.
- Select a Charge Standard Type from Conventional and G-Blast.
- Click OK.
The charge pattern displays in the Viewport.
- Add holes to the charge pattern:
- Select a drill pattern or reporting pattern in the DataBlast Items Tree.
The pattern displays in the Viewport.
- Select holes as required. See Select Objects in the Viewport.
- On the Charge Ribbon Menu, in the Holes group, click Add Holes to Charge Pattern.
- On the Charge ribbon menu, click Save Changes.
A tooltip on the charge pattern node in the DataBlast Items Tree displays the number of holes in the charge pattern.
The icon for the charge pattern node in the DataBlast Items Tree displays a warning icon because the charge standard is still required.
- Select a drill pattern or reporting pattern in the DataBlast Items Tree.
- Specify the charge standard for the charge pattern:
- Select the charge pattern in the Viewport.
- On the Charge ribbon menu, in the Charge Apply group, click Set Charge Standard.
The Charge Standard Selection screen displays the defined charge standards of the applicable charge standard type. See Maintain Conventional Charge Standards and Maintain G-Blast Charge Standards.
- Select the Initiation System Type from Non-Electric and Electronic.
- Select the required charge standard.
- Click Select.
The changes are saved automatically and the warning icon no longer displays for the charge pattern node.
Activity Steps (Method 2)
- Select the Charge module.
- Select a drill pattern or reporting pattern in the DataBlast Items Tree.
The pattern displays in the Viewport.
- Select holes as required.
- Right-click the drill pattern in the DataBlast Items Tree and select Add Charge Pattern from the menu.
A confirmation message displays.
- Click Yes.
The Charge Pattern screen displays.
- Enter a Name.
- Select a Charge Standard Type from Conventional and G-Blast.
- Click OK.
The charge pattern displays in the Viewport.

The icon for the charge pattern node in the DataBlast Items Tree displays a warning icon because the charge standard is still required.
- Specify the charge standard for the charge pattern as described in method 1 above.
