Configure DataBlast Service Control Settings

Note: If you are configuring the Service Control settings for the first time during a DataBlast Pro implementation, ensure you save these settings even if you keep all fields with their default values. When the screen is open for the first time, DataBlast Pro creates a record with the default values, but the record is not yet saved to the DataBlast database.

Activity Steps

  1. On the DataBlast Application Menu, select Site Maintenance.

    The Site Maintenance screen displays.

  2. Select the Service Control node.
  3. Select the Service tab.
  4. Complete the following fields.
    • DataBlast Login—The internal DataBlast user that is used by the DataBlast Service when writing data. Select from the configured users. The selected user must have full permissions.
    • Database Timeout—Number of seconds.
    • Deadlock Immediate Retry Count—Number of times to immediately retry an action if a deadlock error occurs.
    • Deadlock Immediate Retry Delay—Delay between retries in seconds.
    • Forced Rest Frequency—Period of time within which the DataBlast Service attempts to run a single process call within a thread. Threads should not run more frequently than this setting.
    • Forced Rest Duration—Number of seconds for which the DataBlast Service rests after running a process call within a thread.
    • WCF DataBlast Server Host Name—The hostname that is used to communicate with the DataBlast Clients. The accessible name of the server machine where the DataBlast Service is running.
    • Workstation WCF Comms Port—The TCP/IP communication port used by the DataBlast Clients to connect to the DataBlast Service. Default: 14900.
  5. Click Save Changes.
